Multimedia and Internet Stations

Internet service aims to provide and deliver the community highly effective learning experiences through web and internet technologies as an extension of the services in the conventional library. The internet is for educational and research purposes only. Games, chats, accessing pornographic images and other unrelated activities are strictly prohibited. Librarian/library staff may intervene to ensure optional access to these computers. The internet service is free of charge.

Internet Service Acceptance Policy

  1. Schedule
  2. Access to the library Internet facility is available at the following time schedules:

    TIME DAYS
    8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday
    8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday

  3. General Guidelines and Conduct for Users
    • The Library Internet Service facility is intended primarily to support research activities. Usage should be limited for this purpose. Each user is allowed an access of two (2) hours per day on a first-come, first-served accommodation or an equivalent of two hundred sixteen (216) hours Internet access per Semester.
    • Entry / Exit control to the facility is governed by physical login of users in a logbook intended for the purpose. The user’s ID should be surrendered upon entry and may be retrieved upon exit. This activity is facilitated by the Custodian-in-Charge
    • Care in the usage of all computing units, including peripheral devices, is expected from all users.
    • All DVD/CD ROM drives and USB ports are disabled. However, hard copy of any file may be released to requesting user after payment to the Librarian-in-Charge an appropriate fee, as follows:
      1. P 5.00 / page text content only
      2. P10.00 / graphics (black & white)
      3. P 15.00 / page with graphics (colored)

      The Official receipt serves as the releasing stub.

    • The following are strictly prohibited:
      1. computer gaming
      2. internet chat
      3. browsing of sexually explicit, obscene or similarly prohibited websites
      4. eating, drinking or bringing-in food / drinks inside the facility
      5. downloading and / or printing of pornographic, obscene, libelous or otherwise unlawful materials
      6. disturbing physical conduct which tends to affect other users of the facility

  4. IT Equipment Integrated System and Network Security
  5. All users should not attempt to perform any of the following:

    1. hardware and system repair
    2. hardware manipulation and/or relocation
    3. hacking or reconfiguring system or hardware settings
    4. causing computer virus contamination of the software system
    5. use of unauthorized and/or unlicensed software
    6. hardware pilferage

  6. Disciplinary Action
  7. Any violation proven by appropriate investigation against any of this Acceptable Use Policy by any user will be subject to disciplinary sanctions in accordance with pertinent provisions in the STUDENT MANUAL, including suspension of access to the Library Internet Service Facility.

  8. Multimedia Internet Service Guidelines:
    • Present validated library card and school I.D. to the librarian-in charge.
    • Register in the multimedia and Internet Users’ Logbook.
    • A maximum of two (2) hours per day will be given to each user.
    • If the user generates hard copies for his/her research work, a fee of PHP 5.00 (text only) and PHP 15.00 (w/graphics) per page shall be paid to the librarian-in-charge.
