Summary: "Since the implementation of the CHED memorandum prescribing Sociology Anthropology as one of the Social Science courses included in the New General Education Curriculum as part of all baccalaureate degree programs, many textbooks have been already written for the subject. Most textbooks tend to concentrate mainly in the area of Sociology without much coverage for Anthropology having limited discussion on culture. In this textbook, the author has dedicated a chapter to the sub-discipline of physical anthropology, focusing on man's origins to aid in clarifying concepts of race and ethnicity as a related topic in culture. A chapter is also alloted to the sub-discipline of linguistics, focusing on the essential and inseparable relationship between culture and language, while a chapter is also devoted to the sub-discipline of archeology to aid in the appreciation of cultural heritage and conservation." --
