"Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) is one of three components of the National Service Training (NSTP) established in accordance with Republic Act 9163. This program aims to recognize the importance of youth in nation-building, raise awareness among youth, and develop their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being in accordance with the provisions of the 1987 Philippine Constitution. The rationale for the preparation of this course book is to improve CWTS 1 remote course offerings, assist CWTS 1 students and faculty/facilitators during this semester's synchronous and asynchronous learning mode, and provide easily accessible CWTS 1 instructional materials for faculty/facilitators and students. These outcomes-based education framed course book is divided into seven teaching units. The first unit will introduce students to the National Training Service Program (NSTP), providing them with a basic overview and orientation to the course. The author's utmost hope is for students to enjoy and benefit from their study of CWTS 1. Later in life, the experience and insights they will gain from the various modules of the course book will enable them to recognize the significance of their study of CWTS as future nation builders of our nation." |
